About

Is your name really Silverstein Potter? No. The name was derived from two of my favorite children’s authors (Shel Silverstein and Beatrix Potter).

Is that a real picture of you? Yes.

Why did you decide to use the name Silverstein Potter? I was taking an online Creative Writing course and we were encouraged to come up with a nickname. I realize it’s not much of a nickname. It is definitely not shorter than my real name, but I like it.

Why is your blog called Silverstein Potter and Other Fictitious Ramblings? The reason I named it that is because I am writing mostly fiction on here. Although, there is definitely some of my life that is weaving it’s way on the blog.

What is your goal for your blog? My goal is to record my progress in writing, and to encourage others no matter what they are working toward to not give up. Learn from your mistakes. Mistakes is where I’ve grown a lot..

What do you do in your spare time? Spare time? I have three boys, a husband, and a four-month old Morkie. What Spare time? Did I mention I homeschool.

Do you have any other interests besides writing? Yes. Painting, Photography, and reading. The biggest interest that I have is my family.

What else would you like to say? I just want to say that I hope that everyone will look around, and say hello. Maybe follow, if they find something that interests them. I also hope that it encourages others to keep going after their dreams.

  1. I am in the process of revamping my blog, Cow Pasture Chronicles, do a little spring sprucing, so to speak. I really like the layout of your blog. Nice About Page, too.

Thanks for stopping by the Cow Pasture, comments are always welcome and I hope to have more interaction with you in the future.

    1. Thank you Sheila. Your comments are very encouraging. I appreciate you taking the time to read my blog and look around and for commenting. I look forward getting to know you. Feel free to comment even if its a critique. 🙂

      1. I know. I love those two authors. There are many more that I like. It was funny in the creative writing course one lady was describing what she thought each of us looked like. She described me with silver hair. 🙂

  2. An interesting About page, with some nice detail about yourself. Like you, I’m a real family person. They come first in everything, even though they’ve all ‘flown the nest’. I’m impressed with your intention to post every day. I only manage a few per week, but I’ll look forward to reading more of yours in future. 🙂
